About Womanon.

Closing the women's health gap.

Womanon at a Glance

Women's health advocacy

Womanon was founded in 2025 as a nonprofit company. As a leading women's health organisation, we provide products and services that make a difference every day to uplift women and girls, reducing suffering and improving quality of life.

Affordability and access are the two major barriers that keep women and girls from getting the products, diagnostics, and treatments they need. Our approach dismantles these barriers and is premised on; equity enablement, climate focus, business driven, and leading in transformative solutions.

Our Challenge

The challenge of women's health transcends mere access to sanitary products and contraceptives; it's a multifaceted issue intertwined with cultural stigma, limited resources, and educational gaps. Many women and girls face insurmountable obstacles in managing their health due to the unavailability of affordable, sustainable, and safe products, diagnostics, and treatments. This scarcity not only impacts their physical well-being but also deters their educational pursuits and economic participation.

Our Approach

At Womanon, we believe in a comprehensive approach to women's health that addresses not just the physical aspects but also the social, economic, and educational dimensions. Our initiatives are designed to create sustainable solutions that empower women to take control of their health journey.

We work closely with communities, healthcare providers, and policymakers to develop programs that are culturally sensitive, accessible, and effective. By combining innovative technology with grassroots engagement, we're able to reach women across diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

Leadership in transformative solutions

Formulation of regulations and guidelines on standards to ensure products and services are of the highest quality, effective, safe, sustainable, and accessible.

Our Vision

Womanon aspires to be the global leader in women's health.

Our Beliefs

"Each time we stand up for an ideal, or act to improve the lot of others, or strike out against injustice, we send forth a tiny ripple of hope, and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."

- Robert F. Kennedy

Significance

We recognise the significance of our purpose and the enormity of closing the women's health gap. We envision a world where women's health does not hinder opportunities but instead creates avenues for a better tomorrow.

Significance

Purpose

Our hopes and beliefs in the purpose of what we do drive the rational application of our day-to-day efforts. We strive to show women and girls that they are valued and supported in building lives of opportunity and dignity. That womanhood is not something to be despised, but something that is powerful and to be celebrated. That when women and girls are supported and empowered with their health, they can do incredible things.

Purpose

Courage

We have courage over timidity, conviction over ease, and perseverance in pursuing our purpose to impact the world around us for good. Our greatest asset is our people; emboldened with the energy and devotion to light to South Africa and where that light is a beacon to the rest of the world.

Courage

Our Advocacy

We advance access to safe, sustainable, and affordable solutions for women's health, while empowering women through education and socio-economic inclusion. We continuously follow societal developments and participate in initiatives and debates on issues related to women's health, and a sustainable and circular society.

Improving well-being for people and societies

We believe that women's health is an important enabler of a dignified life. It is a simple fact, but one full of complex challenges, including taboos, and stigmas. That is why we are committed to breaking barriers, as we purposefully contribute to healthier and more inclusive societies.

As we touch people's lives, it is only natural for us to recognise, understand and serve the diverse needs of women and girls, while simultaneously creating an organisational culture with a strong sense of belonging and engagement.

Ways of Working

Policy

Ensuring women's health is prioritised and incorporated as a unified objective in health, development, policy, and funding frameworks. Mainstreaming a clear and strong public narrative for more and better investment supported by the availability and use of evidence.

Breadth

Elucidate the breadth of women's health, even where different needs may be prioritised in different sectors and ensure that activities are included in the relevant sectoral work plans and budgets, and their performance is measured.

Collaboration

Facilitate a shared platform through which stakeholders can communicate across silos to share learning and enhance collaboration across initiatives to improve collective effort.

Health

Beyond sexual and reproductive health, to recognise and frame women's health as a health and human rights issue with physical, psychological, and social dimensions, and one that needs to be addressed in the perspective of a life course.

Information

Providing access to accurate, timely information about women's health while incorporating it into curricula and everyday tools to reduce stigma and contribute to better education and health outcomes.

Awareness

Safeguarding women's dignity, privacy, bodily integrity, and, consequently, their self-efficacy to create an enabling environment of non-discrimination and gender equality in which female voices are heard, girls have choices about their future, and women have options to become leaders.
